Cloud Spend Visibility: Dashboards and Reports in Compass
Unified cloud spend visibility across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Compass delivers real-time dashboards, cost center breakdowns, and CFO-ready reports.
Compass consolidates your software spend across all three cloud marketplaces into a single, real-time dashboard. Finance, procurement, and IT leaders can see exactly what's been purchased, from which marketplace, at what cost, and how it applies to your cloud commitments — without waiting for monthly statements.
What you can see in Compass
Compass surfaces the data your team needs across every dimension of marketplace spend:
-
Marketplace spend by hyperscaler: Total spend on AWS, Azure, and GCP Marketplace — broken down by current month, year-to-date, and by contract period. See at a glance where your dollars are going across each cloud.
-
Commit utilization: A live view of how much of your EDP (AWS), MACC (Azure), or equivalent Google Cloud commitment has been drawn down versus how much remains. Know your pace before your hyperscaler tells you.
-
Vendor-level spend: A per-vendor breakdown showing contract value, which marketplace channel was used, and when each contract comes up for renewal. No more hunting across systems to find who you're paying and when.
-
Category spend: Software spend organized by category — security, observability, DevOps, data infrastructure, and more — so you can identify budget concentration and plan strategically.
-
Savings realized: A running total of Flywl Credits earned on qualifying transactions plus any other savings versus your out-of-pocket baseline. See the dollar value Compass has returned to your organization.
Cost center allocation and chargeback
Compass gives finance and procurement teams the tools to assign and report spend at the cost center level — both in real time and retroactively.
-
Tag at transaction time: When a new marketplace purchase is initiated in Compass, the procuring team can assign it to a cost center before the transaction closes. This eliminates after-the-fact cleanup and ensures the charge lands in the right bucket from day one.
-
Retroactive tagging: For marketplace purchases that predate your Compass deployment, Compass can apply cost center tags after the fact based on your organization's structure, vendor ownership, or business unit mapping.
-
Chargeback exports: At any time, you can export a cost center chargeback report as a CSV file. This report includes transaction date, vendor, marketplace, contract value, cost center, and net cost after Flywl Credits. Use it to bill internal teams on a monthly cycle.
-
ERP integration: Compass integrates with SAP, Oracle, and Workday to push cost center assignments directly into your ERP — so your books reflect the correct allocation automatically, without a manual import step.
The hero report
The hero report is Compass's CFO-ready financial summary. It aggregates your complete marketplace spend picture into a single exportable document designed to support internal approval workflows and quarterly cloud spend reviews.
The hero report includes:
- Total committed spend: The full value of your enterprise cloud commitments across hyperscalers
- Amount drawn down: How much of that commitment has been consumed through marketplace transactions to date
- Remaining balance: What's left to draw down — and by when
- Shortfalls and overages: Where your actual spend is running behind commitment pace (shortfall) or has exceeded an agreed threshold (overage), so you can act before the hyperscaler surfaces it
- Available budget: A clear view of remaining spend capacity within your current commitment period
- Projected utilization: Compass's forward-looking estimate of whether you're on pace to meet your commit based on current spend velocity
- Top savings opportunities: Vendors in your inventory not yet transacting on the marketplace that could be shifted to accelerate drawdown and earn Flywl Credits
To generate your hero report: In Compass, navigate to Reports > Hero Report. Choose your reporting period, then export as a PDF or copy a shareable link to send directly to stakeholders.
Tip
Schedule monthly hero report exports to automatically share your commit utilization with your CFO and VP of Finance. Proactive visibility prevents end-of-year commitment shortfalls.
