End-to-End Cloud Marketplace Purchase Workflow in Compass

Follow the Compass purchase workflow from vendor discovery through approval, marketplace transaction, and ERP reconciliation — all in under two weeks.

Compass guides you through every step of a marketplace purchase — from identifying an opportunity to getting finance approval and completing the transaction. The workflow integrates with your existing procurement tools (Coupa, ServiceNow) so purchases stay compliant without adding manual steps.

End-to-end purchase flow

Discover

Find the vendor in Compass — from your imported inventory, an inbound private offer, or a manual search.

Model

View side-by-side comparisons: public listing price vs. FPO price, with commit drawdown amount and Flywl Credits shown.

Request approval

For enterprise purchases, submit an approval request directly from Compass. If Coupa is connected, the approval request routes automatically into your existing workflow.

Receive the offer

Once the seller has accepted and structured the private offer, it appears in your Compass queue for review.

Review & accept

Inspect final terms — price, duration, payment schedule, drawdown amount, and credits. Click Accept.

Process

The marketplace processes the transaction. Compass confirms the drawdown is applied to your EDP/MACC.

Reconcile

Compass syncs the transaction to your connected financial system (SAP, Oracle, or Workday). Cost center allocation and chargeback data are included.

Procurement integrations in the workflow

Compass connects with the tools your procurement and finance teams already use:

  • Coupa: Purchase requests route through Coupa approval workflows automatically; Compass pulls existing vendor contracts from Coupa for renewal matching.
  • ServiceNow: IT asset management records update automatically when a purchase completes.
  • SAP / Oracle / Workday: Financial reconciliation data syncs within two weeks of transaction close, with cost center and chargeback data included.

Compass reduces procurement cycle time from months to days. The typical timeline is: Day 1 — discover opportunity; Day 2 — request approval; Day 3–5 — offer review and acceptance; Day 7 — transaction complete; Day 14 — financial reconciliation.
