Financial Reconciliation: Sync Transactions to Your ERP
Compass syncs marketplace transactions to SAP, Oracle, and Workday, reducing reconciliation from months to two weeks with automatic cost center data.
One of the biggest blockers to marketplace adoption is reconciliation — matching marketplace transactions to internal financial records. Compass automates this by syncing transaction data directly to your ERP (SAP, Oracle, or Workday), reducing close-out timelines from months to as little as two weeks.
How reconciliation works in Compass
Every marketplace transaction that flows through Compass carries a complete financial data payload that maps directly to your ERP's fields.
When a marketplace transaction completes, Compass captures:
- Vendor name — the ISV or software provider
- Product — the specific SKU or listing purchased
- Contract value — total deal amount, including payment schedule
- Marketplace channel — AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Marketplace
- Payment schedule — one-time, annual, or multi-year installment structure
- Cost center — assigned at transaction time or via retroactive tagging
- Start and end dates — contract term with key renewal milestone
- FUID — the Flywl Unique ID that provides a consistent product identifier across marketplaces
This full data set maps to your ERP's corresponding fields and syncs automatically via the connected integration. Compass also applies Flywl Credits and commit drawdown amounts in the sync — so your ERP reflects net cost and remaining commitment balance accurately, not just gross spend.
Setting up ERP reconciliation
Go to Settings > Integrations
In Compass, navigate to Settings > Integrations in the left sidebar.
Select your ERP
Choose your ERP system: SAP, Oracle, or Workday. Each integration has a dedicated connection wizard.
Complete the connection wizard
Follow the on-screen steps to authenticate. You'll need admin credentials or an API key with write access to your ERP environment. Your IT or finance systems team can assist if needed.
Map fields to your chart of accounts
Map Compass transaction fields to your ERP's chart of accounts, cost center structure, and supplier master. This is a one-time configuration step. See the field mapping table below for reference.
Run a test sync
Select a recently closed transaction and run a test sync. Verify the record appears correctly in your ERP before enabling automatic sync.
Enable automatic sync
Once the test passes, enable automatic sync. Going forward, new transactions will sync to your ERP within 48 hours of completion.
What gets synced
The table below shows how Compass transaction fields map to standard ERP record types. Exact field names vary by ERP and your internal chart of accounts configuration.
| Compass field | Maps to in ERP |
|---|---|
| Vendor name | Supplier / Vendor master record |
| Contract value | Purchase order amount |
| Marketplace channel | Procurement source code |
| Payment schedule | Payment terms |
| Cost center | Cost center / WBS element |
| Flywl Credits applied | Rebate / Credit memo |
| FUID | External product identifier |
| Transaction date | Document date |
Compass reduces reconciliation timelines from months to as little as two weeks. The automation eliminates the manual export-and-match process that typically delays period closes.
