Optimize Cloud Commits and Maximize EDP/MACC Drawdown
Learn how Compass helps you maximize your AWS EDP and Azure MACC commitments by routing software purchases through the right marketplace at the right time.
Most enterprises with EDP (AWS Enterprise Discount Program) or MACC (Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment) agreements don't fully utilize their committed spend — leaving millions on the table. Compass tracks your commit balances in real time and identifies which software purchases can be routed through your marketplace to draw down your commitment and earn Flywl Credits.
Understanding your commit balance
Your EDP or MACC balance represents your total committed spend minus what you've already drawn down:
- Purchases made through AWS or Azure Marketplace count toward your commitment balance.
- Compass displays four key metrics at all times: Total Commitment, Drawn Down to Date, Remaining Balance, and Projected Draw-down at Current Rate.
- If your current purchasing rate suggests you'll fall short of your commitment before the agreement ends, Compass flags this as a shortfall risk — giving you time to act before value expires.
How Compass identifies optimization opportunities
Compass continuously scans your data to surface actionable savings:
- Scans your software inventory for vendors with marketplace listings
- Calculates how much of each vendor's contract value is eligible for EDP/MACC drawdown
- Surfaces vendors where you're currently paying out-of-pocket but could route through the marketplace
- Models multi-year scenarios where moving a renewal to a 3-year marketplace deal maximizes drawdown and unlocks better pricing
